Are halfbreed characters allowed?
Yes, we allow reasonable halfbreed characters. Reasonable meaning we would like you to be realistic with them. IE: begris do not reproduce naturally, thus there cannot be a half begris character unless you come up with a reasonable story to fit.
Can my character be half beast, half race?
Yes, this is also allowed within a believable standing. IE: korlx do not reproduce naturally, so please have a reasonable story to fit.
Can I have a character that is half mystic, half something else?
No, sorry but I don't allow half mystics. The mystics of Aztersil are so rare, if they exist at all, that there is no possible way to have a halfbreed mystic.
Can I play a mystic?
Yes once you reach member level four. Mystics can be played as normal characters, though they do not have the extensive information as the other beasts and races so you would have to expand with them quite a bit.
How many languages can my character know?
I usually cap the amount of languages off at two fluent and one somewhat. However, circumstances are different for different situations. Characters who devote their life to study can know more. Characters who are very old can know more.
My character has a familiar or companion. Do I need to make another character sheet for them?
No. The other is considered an NPC, and is fine as long as it is not played without your main character. I do ask that you put information about the companion in your character's sheet. There is a section called Mentionable Notes on the character sheet that you can use to put this kind of information.
Your familiar or companion can be of any Aztersil beast, race, or mystic, but can also be of anything you want it to be, within reason.
Can my character follow the god of another race?
Yes. The gods listed under each race are general gods for that race. If you have an elf that follows the scerg god, that's fine.
Can I make up my own god for my character?
Yes. You are not limited to only the gods listed on our forums under the races. You can have a character that follows your own type of god. Please be sure to give information about this god in your character sheet.
Does my character have to follow the generalization of the race descriptions?
No. Your character is your own. While the race pages give certain general personalities of each race, you can have a character that branches away from that. However, you must remember that if you choose to do so, the rest of the world's characters will treat your character as it is generalized. Dresall are religious fanatics, and nurgah are evil and must be killed. Your character makes their own destiny, but others may hinder him or her.
What kind of armor can my character have?
I have not done such extensive research upon armors, and armor types, when they were created, and how they were used. This I leave up to you. Platemail, chainmail, any other type of medieval/feudal armor is allowed. No Kevlar guys, but I'm assuming this is understood with our settings.
I want to join, but I do not like any of the listed beasts or races. Can I join with one of my own?Click Contact in the links to the left and email Silver what you want to join as and an explanation. Either that or join and PM her with the same thing. Each person is different and depending on your situation she will present you with options.
How many threads can my character be in?
As many as you can handle. Here we don't have any set date the world is put in, so your character can be in several threads at the same time in different areas in the world and at different 'times'. This basically means one thread does not affect another unless you want it to.
Also, your thread does not affect other member's threads any more than their threads affect yours. Two threads can be active in the same city, while one is during the day, the other at night - one starting war, and the other has characters conversing.
I joined, my character was accepted, and I started a thread, but no one is joining.
Don't worry. You can either go to the Form Your Party forum in the OOC section and recruit members for your thread, or if you are still having problems, PM one of the administrators. They will see that you have a partner before the end of the day. We will not allow you to go without a rp partner if it is within our power to do so.
What does sheetless mean?
When you create a character for this forum you have to fill out a character sheet and have it approved. Sheetless means this process can be skipped. Those levels that can use sheetless characters can make up a character on the spot for a rp without having to make a sheet and have it approved by the staff.
Sheetless characters make me nervous. I don't have a sheet for them, and they may be overpowered.
Don't worry. Those members who have gained the level high enough to use sheetless characters know what they are doing by now. I enforce the same rules with sheetless characters as I do with all other characters. If overpowering is present, the member will be warned. The idea of sheetless is to allow members to play with other races, beasts, and mystics and even test out character ideas before making the actual character. It is a privilege, not a right. That privilege can be revoked even if that member is of high enough level.
I'm a beginner to role playing, but I really like your forum and want to join. Is that okay?
That really depends on your writing capabilities. You may be a beginner, but be a very good writer so there is no real problem. Silver was the same way. She had been roleplaying maybe eight months before she created Aztersil. However, we are not a beginner's forum. If you do not think your skills are up to par with the rest of the board, please bookmark us and return when you think they are. We won't be going anywhere.
We also have another feature for beginners if you think your skills are up with the rest of the board. Please read the rules for that information.
Are there limits to what screen name I can have?
No. You can have whatever kind of screen name you wish. Just remember, you stick with whatever screen name you make.
How do I join a guild?
If you want to join a guild contact the Guild Master of that guild. Their name and a link to their profile should be listed with the guild.
Can I join an Organization?
Your character can be a member of an organization. However, organizations are not like guilds and do not keep track of who is a member. Organizations are like random kingdoms, they are there for colour and political flare for the forum. If you wish to make your character a member of one of the organizations, you are free and well in your right to do so.
Your rules don't have some of the basic forum rules like no godmodding. Are things like that allowed?
No. I do not have the time to sit down and type out all the meaningless rules all forums have. Its time consuming for me and annoying for a new member who has already read the same rules in many other forums. To cut down on time, I've typed up a small note at the beginning of the rules that explains normal forum rules, such as no godmodding, are still enforced, but are not typed out in the rules page. The rules listed apply to Aztersil mainly, and are important for reading. If you are caught godmodding, stalking, or any unacceptable forum behavior, you will be dealt with by the administration. Saying it's not in the rules is no excuse. We are all literate role players, and should know how to act in a forum by now.
Another member has sent me a message advertising another forum. What do I do?
Please contact Silver Hawke immediately. Send the original ad and the member's name within your PM or email and the problem will be dealt with.
One of the staff was really rude to me.
Please contact Silver Hawke with whatever problem you have. PM or Contact page are available to you to reach her.
Can my character encounter orcs and other creatures that are not part of the race, beast, and mystic lists?
Yes. You can come up with any NPCs you like, harpies, orcs, trolls, dragons, and the like. You just cannot make characters out of non Aztersil creatures until you reach that member level.
Who are Elite Members?
Elite members are those members that have earned very high respect among the forum, or were part of the forum long before we had many changes.
How can I become an Elite Member?
There are several ways. Don't pester the administration about becoming an Elite member. Earning high respect in the community, or even going far out of your way to do things for the forum such as huge advertising, bringing in groups of new members, and aiding the administration.
Can I submit a race/beast to become a part of Aztersil?
Yes, you can. Silver does not accept very many races/beasts that are presented to her by the members, but on rare occasions some races/beasts will be merged into the world. If you make a new race or beast, email or PM it to Silver Hawke and she will tell you the verdict. If a new beast or race is accepted from you, there will be a note at the beginning that you were the one that created it. The creature will, however, become part of Aztersil and you will be unable to request for its removal if you leave the forum. But, the creature is still yours and you can take it wherever you wish.
How do I edit my character?
Login to the website through the link Member Login on the sidebar. You will see an option that says My Characters. Click that. You will be presented with your accepted, pending, and saved characters. Click the one you want to edit. There will be edit options over each section.
