A guild is a group or association of people, who have banded together around the same interests, ideas, or skills. Guilds have the ability to organize festivals, or large scale missions and goals. Guilds also offer to their members, an organized system of missions. People may come to a guild master with a task or problem, and the guild master would determine the skill level of the task. He would then hand it down to a member, or group of members of the guild to complete. This offers several benefits to both the member and the guild. The member, after completing the mission, would give a percentage of the pay to the guild master, while keeping a portion for himself.
The guild master gains power within the city, plus the spoils of the mission. The member gains experience, and a percent of the spoils. The guild master can, in this way, help members of the guild rise in their experience levels by giving them slightly more challenging missions as they continue.
Each guild would have different aspects and jobs within their guild. Mage and Druid guilds would offer secret spells and powers known only to those within the guild. Fighter guilds would offer special abilities and weapons known only to those within the guild. In any case, each guild would have an updated and maintained list of available jobs and tasks, or a system to hand jobs down to members of the guild. Guild masters may also collaborate together to host tournaments between their members and their guilds. These can be brought to the attention of the Administrator of the site to seek prizes if none can be offered within the membership.
Guilds would have their own Guild Center wherever they have decided to have their headquarters. Within the OOC there is also a Guild Master Meeting Hall that only the guild masters can see, and where they can speak in secret between each other to discuss tasks, meetings, tournaments, as well as politics between each other.
The guild master has ultimate power within the guild. He can assign missions and tasks to the members; he can assign helpers to do certain jobs for him. Guild masters are held accountable for everything that happens with, and within the guilds. If a guild member is caught disobeying guild rules, it should be handled within the guild. It is the responsibility of the guild master to keep a list of who is in his or her guild, and keep track of how many missions they have completed and have been assigned.
A member's character can only join one guild. Double agents are not allowed within the guilds unless they wish to roleplay it out. Every guild will have different rules and requirements to join. Guilds will offer different things if you join. You may get new abilities, new powers, any amount of posts for joining, and you will be supplied with missions, tasks, and will be part of tournaments and festivals that are hosted by the guild itself.
Okay, so now you are wondering " Oh this is nice, I want to make a guild, so what do I do, how do I know what to do, and all that fun stuff? "
Simple, there are certain aspects you need to know. Here are some guidelines and regulations to follow in creating your guild:
- You must be of Member Level Two to create a guild.
- You must have four other potential members, as well as the guild master (the creator) for your guild to petition the administrator for the creation.
- If the guild has been inactive for three months, the administrator will PM the guild master with a warning. If there is still no activity for another month, the guild will be archived.
- The guild must be developed, and well established with a system of quests, missions, meetings, etc.
- All members of the guild must roleplay their entrance into the guild
- A member can have multiple characters, each in different guilds, only if each guild is aware of this and consent to allowing the member to do such
- Give you guild a unique name. Assassins guild, or Fighters guild are way too plain.
- Guilds are required to hold an annual tournament at the start of every year to celebrate the new Age in Aztersil. The guild masters host the tournament, and within the Meeting Hall will discuss the terms and rules of this tournament.
- Each guild is required to hold one other event besides the annual tournament every year. This event can be a festival, tournament, raid, or any other guild wide event. This event is not between all guilds as the annual tournament is, but just within the single guild itself. Prizes and terms will be discussed in the Meeting Hall.
- Members can only be guild master of one guild
When you petition the administrator, you should have your guild completely worked out in every way. You should have a good description of what the guild stands for. You should have an established system of missions and such, and show you clearly have control over your guild. Each guild should have its own rules, its own way of defining each member as a member of that guild, its own award system, what it offers if new members join, etc.
The administrator is happy to work anything out with you if you want to have certain things. Each guild will have its own guild headquarters wherever they have decided to establish themselves. Guild masters can set up any sort of in character leveling system with their members, and are welcome to ask the administrator to set up a special group or rank setting with their members. Guild masters are also welcome to create a new member account JUST for the guild.
Guild masters are still susceptible to the Member Level system. Just because they are in a new group does not make them null and void to the Aztersil Member Levels.
When you feel you have perfected your guild EMAIL it to the administrator via the Contact link. Your guild, when accepted, will be given its own page on the site. If you have secret information, that still needs to be emailed to the admin, but you may request it to not be put on the page, so that it may be known only to the guild members.
