Aztersil is much like Earth, though Aztersil is about twice the size of Earth. Everything flows much like it does on Earth, but with a much more magical quality to it.
During the day there is only one sun, a sun which Aztersil circles with six other planets. During the night, there are three moons: Sunnu, Graten, and Vesk.
Aztersil's sun is one of an unnatural sort. Men of science say it must burn on gasses undiscovered upon the planet. Men of religion say the gods battle upon it's surface for ultimate control. At the beginning of the year, the sun will burn a bright yellow, almost white. As the year progresses, it slowly begins to turn red, until at the middle of the year, in the Center Months, it is a deep red. Then slowly as the year finishes, it turns a bright yellow once again.
This phenomena is nothing but part of the daily lives of those that live upon Aztersil. They use it to mark the calendar. When the sun begins to fade a dimmer yellow, it is known as Beginning Months. When the sun is deep red, it is known as Center Months. When the sun is bright yellow, it is known as End Months.
The sun, in fact, does burn on gasses that are unknown to the world, which cause it to change due to chemical reactions. The chemical reactions allow the gas to continually be used over as it reacts to the flame in both stages of the reaction. Each reaction causes a finished product to cause the flames to burn a different shade.
Solar eclipses occur about once every 9 or 14 months as the moons rotate in an erratic pattern. At times, one can look up to the sky and see the very tip of a moon cutting against the sun.
Three moons circle Aztersil. From the lands, the moons circle the sky, mostly clustered about each other, but are at times spread out over the sky. Once every three years, they appear to line up in a perfectly straight line across the sky. Vesk appears to be the largest and has a lavender hue to its surface. Graten appears to be the middle in size and has a bluish hue to its surface. Sunnu appears to be the smallest moon and has a white surface much like Earth's own moon.
The tides on Aztersil are only oddly disrupted at that one time every three years when the moons line up. Why this happens no one really knows, but it is believed that the hands of the gods position the moons as such, affecting the tides to wipe out the fools. It is only at this one time every year that the oceans will form great waves, and it only lasts for about two to three days.
In reality, Graten is the moon closest to Aztersil. It is the only moon that has a major effect upon the tides. In reality, it is the smallest of the three moons, and orbits Aztersil in a rather oval type fashion. Graten's complete cycle takes about one month to complete.
Sunnu and Vesk are the same size, in reality. Sunnu does not have any effect upon the tides, because it is so far from Aztersil's surface. It orbits in an almost perfect circle around the planet. Sunnu's complete cycle takes about two weeks. This is due to it being the farthest moon and having to compete with the other moons as well as Aztersil's own orbit about the sun.
The third moon, Vesk, has a complete cycle in about three months. It is the slowest orbiting and seems to appear higher than the other moons when standing upon the surface looking up at the night sky. Vesk has little effect upon the tides, but it's own gravity effects the other moons, making it appear as if their movements are speeding up when they near Vesk.

The Aztersil time period is one that can best be described by the medieval and feudal ages of Earth. The most common weapons are that of swords, crossbows, long bows, and other such weapons.
We are, however, slightly different because we use magic, and crystals. A crossbow can become much more deadly when tipped with a fire crystal. A use like this can make it almost the equivalent of a modern pistol. Okay, maybe slightly more explosive. Members in Level Seven, as well as Administrators, Moderators, and Elite members are allowed characters with very simple, flintlock weapons. Think Pirates of the Caribbean.
We have movable type printing presses, so books can be found in small amounts. Buggies are allowed, so if you have a horse and buggy, that works. Horses are the main source of transportation, unless you seek teleportation.
We have skyships, as you may notice in the descriptions of some of the cities about skyship ports. Skyships look just like the ancient ships. They are made of wood, with masts and such, so think about Pirates of the Caribbean again. These ships fly with the use of crystals in their hulls. They also have the ability to sail upon the water.
These, I believe, are all the main points of Aztersilian technology. If you have any other questions, please Contact me or PM me if you are a member.

Slavery is alive in almost every section of the world. The main slave force used is a beast called the frythans. These ratlike creatures are used for nearly all forms of slave labor. All races can be slaves, though this depends on the situation and the legality of the situation. Legal slave trading consists of all races, and even beasts, which are those that have been arrested and were sentenced into slavery, or were sold off by their families at a young age. Illegal slave trade is run mostly by those who capture individuals and kidnap them. These poor souls are then sold to slave traders who transport them to places where they can be safely sold off.
There are some people that will not be found in legal slave trades. These would be white or blonde haired dresall, and others who hold high stations in the world. Kalus are not often found in slavery because of their ability to teleport. However, in illegal slave trade, anything is possible. Anything is possible, also, in the scerg and nurgah cities. These two races care not who they enslave.

Culture is very diverse all over the world. For each area of the world there is a different culture. Each race, and even beasts, have an overall general culture. However these generalizations can be overridden by the culture of the area. You are more than welcome to make up any culture you would like your character to have. Feel free to make up your own town, or even your own area. We have barbaric cultures, jungle cultures, and even something akin to Atlantis. As far as culture is concerned, the world is open and free for you to explore and build to your imagination.
